Mike Sheehey, Senior Vice President of Sports Content, Comcast Sports Group

Comcast Sports Group Senior Vice President of Sports Content Mike Sheehey is responsible for evaluating sports television rights agreements for Comcast Sports Group’s ten regional sports networks, including rights agreements with professional leagues and teams, collegiate conferences and institutions, and other rights holders.

Collectively, Comcast Sports Group’s ten channels deliver more than 2,400 live games to nearly 40 million sports fans in leading markets around the country, including seven of the top ten television markets. Comcast Sports Group’s channels are distinguished by their comprehensive local focus, combining live game coverage with entertaining sports news, talk, analysis, features and other original programming. Comcast Sports Group’s networks are: Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, Comcast SportsNet California, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, Comcast SportsNet New England, Comcast SportsNet Northwest, SNY, The Mtn. – MountainWest Sports Network, and CSS. Comcast Sports Group also manages The Comcast Network, based in Philadelphia and Washington, which delivers community-oriented programming.

Mr. Sheehey, 47, has also contributed to Comcast Sports Group’s growth by creating and launching Comcast SportsNet California and CSS, and he was instrumental in the development of several of Comcast’s other local sports programming services. He previously ran Comcast’s cable systems in the Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. region, and held senior-level financial positions with ESPN and CBS Television.

Mr. Sheehey holds a master’s of tax law from Temple University, a JD from Concord University, an MBA from the University of Rochester, and a BBA from St. Bonaventure. He attended St. Bonaventure and Syracuse University on basketball scholarships.
