Gregg M. Harper, Executive Vice President of Operations & Co-Founder, Wazoo Sports Network

As Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Operations, Gregg oversees all facets of operations, including production, traffic, marketing, rights agreements, and event scheduling, for the Wazoo Sports Network.  Wazoo Sports, Inc. is a Regional Sports Network that delivers broadcasts of high school, NCAA, NAIA and youth sports live and on demand via television and the Internet. Wazoo Sports launched online in December of 2007 and expanded to a 24/7 sports television network on September 25, 2009.  Wazoo Sports has produced more than 400 LIVE games and currently serves more than 600,000 households in Kentucky.

Gregg began streaming audio and video in 1997, and started streaming sports online in 2005.  Gregg has been deeply involved in the sports industry since that time and has garnered the attention of high schools and colleges alike for his expertise in this exploding industry.

Gregg holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and currently resides in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Darby Dunnagan, Video Coordinator, University of Memphis

Darby Dunnagan is in her third season as the video coordinator for the University of Memphis Tigers.

Dunnagan and her staff are responsible for all Memphis athletic video needs.  In addition to covering Tiger football practices and games, they also handle game and highlight film for Olympic sports.  Her office plays a key role in streaming the various athletic events and press conferences to the Tigers’ official website.  They also produce coaches shows and highlight features to populate the site.

A native of Rural Retreat, Va., Dunnagan worked two years as a graduate assistant in the video department at Marshall prior to coming to Memphis.  While at Marshall, she cut video for the coaching staff, supervised student assistants and assisted the video coordinator in the day-to-day operations of the department.  She earned her master’s degree in sports administration in May 2007.

Dunnagan got her start in athletics at the University of Virginia while working on a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and sociology.  She was a student manager for the football team for two seasons before making the transition to athletic video.  She worked for three years in the video department and earned her bachelor’s degree in May 2005.

Tom McShane, Vice President, Remote Operations, CBS College Sports Network

Tom McShane, vice president, remote operations at CBS College Sports Network, is a veteran of broadcast, national cable, and regional sports networks.

Tom began his television career at NBC. Over the course of 20 years there, he worked in various roles including: unit manager, manager of manpower planning for NBC Olympics, and production manager for NBC News and NBC Sports. Tom worked both on and at numerous projects including Olympic Games, Major League Baseball (season, playoffs, All-Star Games, and World Series), National Football League (season, playoffs, Championship Games, and Super Bowls), National Basketball Association (NBA and WNBA season, playoffs, All-Star Games, and Finals), The Gravity Games, Breeder’s Cup (horse racing), gymnastics, figure skating, studio shows, and the Democratic and Republican National Political Conventions. Other work included technical and production support for many news and entertainment studio shows: Saturday Night Live, Late Night with David Letterman, The Today Show, Local News 4, Dateline, and NBC Nightly News, among others.

Tom moved from NBC to take on the position of director, facilities operations at Madison Square Garden Networks (MSG Network and at that time Fox Sports NY). There, he was responsible for the technical and facilities planning of remote broadcasts for all home and away games of nine professional sports teams: (MLB) Yankees, Mets, (NBA) Knicks, Nets, (NHL) Rangers, Islanders, Devils, (WNBA) Liberty, and (MLS) Metro Stars, plus arena football, college basketball, and Golden Gloves Boxing. Tom supervised in-house operations for studio shows, master control, edit rooms, staff scheduling and administration. He coordinated news live shots, press conferences, and special events for other networks and stations broadcasting at the arena (including “The Concert for New York City”).

At ESPN, Tom worked as senior manager and associate director in the Remote / Event Operations department. He was responsible for the operations teams for Major League Baseball (Sunday Night, Monday Night, and Wednesday Night Baseball, MLB All Star Weekend / Home Run Derby, Division Series), and The Little League World Series (Regional Championships, U.S., and International Championships). Tom also managed the operations teams for college basketball, studio remotes, boxing, “New Year No Limits,” and international events including baseball. He worked on site at events as an operations producer for ESPN (and ABC) on college football, college basketball, X Games, The Heisman Trophy Presentation, Wimbledon, and French Open Tennis.

Tom’s move to CBS College Sports Network was a return to a company that he had helped to grow as College Sports Television- CSTV. He had been there previously as Director of Remote Operations and later Vice President. At CBS College, Tom leads the technical and financial planning for variety of college sports (including football, basketball, hockey, soccer, baseball, softball, volleyball, The Alt Games, water polo, and lacrosse), works together with CBS Sports Operations, the NCAA, Conferences (including Mountain West, Conference USA, Atlantic 10, Big East, Patriot League), and the Military Service Academies (Army, Navy, and Air Force in MWC).

Chandler Harkey, Director of Video Operations, Appalachian State Athletics

Chandler Harkey enters his third year as Director of Video Operations for the Appalachian State Athletics Department. Under his direction, ASU Athletics has grown its Internet Webstream operation, GoASU TV, to serve as the model for schools around the Southern Conference.

A 2006 graduate of Appalachian State, Harkey produces weekly television shows, video board content, and a broad variety of special projects for both commercial and internal distribution. He also directs and maintains the Appalachian ISP Sports Network’s internship program for students interested in careers in both radio and television.

Prior to joining ASU Athletics, Harkey worked for the Appalachian State University Creative Services department where he produced special features to enhance and promote the university’s academic endeavors.

He is married to the former Natalie Gregor and the couple resides in Fleetwood, NC.

Johnny Story, Multimedia Developer, West Texas A&M University

Johnny Story has served as the Multimedia Developer for West Texas A&M University since the summer of 2009. Story is responsible for creating and overseeing all forms of multimedia content for the WT Athletic Department.

Story is the game day producer/director for WT Football.  His duties include coordinating the live broadcasting crew (WT Live Crew) and creating videos/motion graphics. In addition, Story oversees all content production for all West Texas A&M University video boards and Web platforms.

When Story isn’t at the games, he creates content for Web and live events.  Just recently, he has developed mobile interactions for fans during the basketball season (ex. Fan’s Player of the Game).

Story graduated in May of 2009 from West Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s in Mass Communication – Broadcasting – Electronic Media.  He has won 12 National awards throughout his studies at West Texas A&M University.  Story is a four-time champion in the National Broadcasting Society.  He has recently been awarded third place in the BEA competition along with two silver and four bronze Telly Awards for his documentary, Through the Eyes of Africa.
